Too much to tell in much detail! I worked as a reporter on the Natal Mercury, then in the Jhb office of the Sunday Tribune. Went into PR, and eventually opened my own business, Promedia. Emigrated to Israel in Dec 1987 and did pretty much the same thing. Have been working in Israeli hi-tech as a writer and content developer. Have also done a fair amount of theatre and film work, acting, producing and promoting, and also voice-overs. My most recent v/o was as the unseen narrator for the Israeli post-apocalyptic zombie movie, Another World, recently launched at international festivals to much acclaim. i also had a main role in the (now) cult satire movie, Israeli Mossad, which has attained something close to local "Rocky Horror" status with mid-night shows every Friday night. I' m still working (!), harder than ever, but with clients I choose.
Finally got my vook "Train in the Distnace" published in July 2018.

Clyde Bartel - correspondence and one visit after more than 30 years.
Peter Braude (and wife Marilyn - Clyde's sister), met in Cape Town in July.

Hey guys: It's been a while and I was prompted by a nudge from Cedric to update my profile and keep in touch. Here goes: For those of you who read my book, "Train in the Distance" https://www.amazon.com/dp/171890276X, things are moving in a very interesting direction: I have teamed up with a producer/developer in Denver Colorado, to develop the book into a TV series or movie. This is incredibly exciting, and we've already had some positive feedback from industry people to take it further. As of now, the project is termed: "a series in development..." and we are actively contacting industry people, investors, directors etc to interest them in getting involved.
Further to that, I have started a podcast which you can listen to at: http://trainindistance.buzzsprout.com I have three episodes out so far and it brings more in-depth information about the book, the characters, the plot....and I've included some Township Jazz as an added bonus. This musical genre is so exciting and vibrant and conveys the atmosphere of South Africa in the 60s and 70s. Take a listen and let me know what you think. Cheers for now.

I was friends with Derrick at school, and even then he had some mental health issues. Sad in any event.

Hi Dave, How nice to hear from you. Wine is also sonething of a passion for me. On tgat point I would urge you to seek out some of theIsraeli wines which are becoming popular these days. In particular Saslove is a wonderful vineyard with a small but very high quality Yeild. I look forward to hearing your comments on the book. Thanks and best wishes.

Hi there everyone.
I'm VERY excited to announce that my book, "Train in the Distance" has been PUBLISHED! Based on my personal experiences as a reporter in Durban in the 1970s, it tells the story of young journalist campaigning against apartheid, its symbols and often brutal ramifications; searching for truth and freedom...freedom of expression, freedom of choice, freedom from fear. His quest eventually brings him to Israel, where his hopes seem to be on the verge of realization, only to be dashed by personal loss in a terrorist attack. The chilling truth behind the attack sends him on a further mission - for revenge. This story presents a different narrative about apartheid-South Africa: not told from a point of view of a black person suffering under that loathsome policy; but from the point of view of a young white journalist, with a strong social conscience, who passionately hates what the policy is doing to his country and its people, and faces the dire consequences of his anti-government stance. In effect, a white victim of apartheid. It covers the turbulent years of mid-1970s South Africa, fear and tragedy during the first Intifada in Israel...and the interlaced events of the First Gulf War, the eventual capture of Saddam Hussein...and an ironic twist.
